A no-nonsense guide to knowing your cousins. But not too well, mind you.
After having reviewed cousincouples.com, I discovered it’s legal to marry your first cousin in New York (as well as about 2 dozen other states), but in Indiana, you’re only allowed to marry a first cousin if you’re both at least 65. I kid you not, cuz.
And while we’re on the topic, one of my first cousins has a birthday tomorrow. Make it count, Paige!
They are only your family if you claim them.
I thought that the “firsts” and “seconds” came from generations, and the removed were the parts that come down. Like, my grandma’s sister’s kid was my 3rd cousin twice removed or… you know, i don’t know what I thought.
On this topic, I finally met and hugged my Second Cousin that goes to my school (now i know what to call her). She was nice!

Very nice chart.. seeing as this is VERY hard to explain to people without drawing in the air with your hands.
